My First Post

In public and especially on social media, we all try to put our best foot forward and only show our best selves, myself included.  However, my personal road to becoming a medical student, and now being on the journey to become a physician, has had just as many struggles as it has victories, and I think sharing the difficulties is just as important as sharing the triumphs.

As a pre-med I felt that medical students were this elite group of super-humans and often wondered if I’d ever get to be one of them, or if I belonged among them.  As a first generation college student, navigating through undergrad was extremely daunting, and the thought of navigating the medical school application process was even more terrifying.

My goal with this blog is to share my journey, both by reflecting on my undergraduate years and by sharing my current journey in medical school. If I can help just a few people considering going down the path of medical school, or already in medical school, feel less alone, normalize their doubts and their struggles, or encourage someone to chase their dream, I would be extremely happy.
